Forklift Operator/Material Handler

Reports to: Operations Manager
Job Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate movement, loading, unloading, and storage of goods, materials, and equipment within the warehouse and operational facilities. This role supports company logistics by operating powered industrial trucks and assisting with warehouse operations while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Essential Job Functions
Assist warehouse operations by:
- Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Loading and unloading trucks, trailers, and storage containers.
- Moving inventory and materials to designated storage locations.
- Staging materials for outgoing shipments and incoming deliveries.
- Inspecting equipment daily and reporting maintenance or safety concerns immediately.
- Verifying shipment accuracy against bills of lading, manifests, and work orders.
- Securing loads to ensure safe transport and storage.
- Maintaining warehouse organization and cleanliness.
- Assisting with inventory counts and cycle counts as assigned.
- Labeling and documenting inventory, vaults, pallets, and shipments accurately.
- Assisting with wrapping, packing, and securing customer goods for storage or transport.
- Following all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and operational procedures.
- Supporting general warehouse duties as needed, including manual loading/unloading when required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior forklift operating experience preferred.
- Valid forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
- Ability to safely operate sit-down forklifts and pallet jack equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior warehouse, moving, or logistics experience preferred.

- Lift and move: Regularly lift and/or transport objects weighing up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or transport weights up to 100 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or transport weights exceeding 100 pounds.
