Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our fast-paced dealership team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repair services. Your enthusiasm and automotive knowledge will ensure a seamless experience, guiding clients through service options, estimating costs, and coordinating repairs with our skilled technicians. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Explain repair procedures, estimate costs using automotive estimating software, and recommend appropriate services to maximize customer satisfaction and dealership revenue
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, and transmission repairs to enhance vehicle performance and safety
- Coordinate with technicians to schedule repairs, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of services
- Maintain detailed service records and write clear service reports using computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Communicate effectively with clients about vehicle diagnostics, repair options, and estimated timelines while providing exceptional customer service
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments securely
Skills
- Proven experience as an automotive service advisor or in a similar auto service management role
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive diagnostics, collision repair, diesel engine repair, air brake systems, shocks & struts, and other key vehicle systems
- Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Excellent client communication skills with a focus on building trust and long-term relationships
- Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and transparency
- Dealership experience is highly preferred; familiarity with auto service writing and sales processes is a plus
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in auto sales is advantageous
