We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team at Hotel Indigo Huntsville MidCity. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of our facilities and equipment. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient, and reliable environment by performing routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and executing repairs across various systems. Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery, electrical systems, and building infrastructure to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
- Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to monitor and control automated processes within manufacturing or facility operations.
- Conduct welding repairs and fabrications as needed to support equipment or structural maintenance projects.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Supervise or assist with residential painting projects or other facilities upkeep tasks to ensure safety standards are met.
- Lead or support team efforts in facilities maintenance projects while fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or manufacturing environments with a strong mechanical background.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and troubleshooting techniques; experience with PLCs is highly desirable.
- Skilled in welding techniques and familiar with residential painting practices is a plus.
- Ability to read technical diagrams, schematics, and use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively.
- Strong communication skills in English for clear documentation and team collaboration.
- Supervising experience or demonstrated leadership capabilities in maintenance settings preferred.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management and record keeping.
- Hands-on experience with electrical components, mechanical systems, and general facilities maintenance tasks.
