Job Description
We are building a small, community-based program for young adults with disabilities as they transition beyond the school system. The program is designed around connection, consistency, community participation, and meaningful daily experiences.
We are looking for a part-time Program Coordinator to help organize and support the day-to-day experience of the program. This person will help manage schedules, coordinate activities and providers, communicate with families, and support a warm, structured environment for participants and caregivers.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is organized, dependable, caring, flexible, and comfortable working closely with families and young adults with diverse support needs.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage weekly schedules for activities, enrichment sessions, provider visits, and community outings
- Plan and support community-based experiences and peer meetups
- Help organize daily programming such as art, reading, writing, and other enrichment activities
- Coordinate with families, caregivers, vendors, service providers, and outside partners
- Share schedules, updates, and photos with families
- Help daily transitions run smoothly and adjust plans when needs change
- Maintain basic program administration, including supplies, invoices, expenses, and simple budget updates
- Research similar programs and suggest thoughtful ways to improve the experience
- Help plan occasional after-hours social activities for participants and their friends
- Assist with safe transfers and positioning in partnership with caregivers, using appropriate techniques and equipment
Qualifications
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, ideally in a school, community, recreational, therapeutic, or related setting
- Experience as a special education teacher, aide, therapist assistant, program coordinator, caregiver, or similar role is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Clear, thoughtful communication skills
- Comfort coordinating schedules, vendors, activities, or services
- Basic budgeting, expense tracking, or administrative experience
- A flexible, hands-on approach in an environment where needs may shift during the day
- Genuine empathy and respect for young adults with diverse abilities
- A warm, positive presence and the ability to build trust with participants, families, caregivers, and partners
- Creativity, good judgment, reliability, and a strong sense of ownership
Compensation & Time Off
$35,000–$40,000 per year
20 hours per week, Mon-Fri 9:00am-1:00pm
9 paid holidays annually
3 weeks paid time off annually
