Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Schedule: Monday – Friday from 4pm – 12am
Pay Rate: $13 per hour
Position Summary:
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for efficiently coordinating the daily activities for the clients in a residential setting. The DSP is responsible for instructing and training adults with disabilities, primarily development disabilities, within a group home setting. Duties will include, but not limited to, instructing/training residents to achieve maximum independence while fostering a caring and family-style environment. The DSP is responsible for the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of each resident in their care. The Center for Pursuit is looking for someone who is going to truly take care of the residents and completing the necessary documentation accurately and completely in the computer programs.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting the residents with their daily living activities
- Bathing, grooming, hygiene, and dressing

Cooking, and meal planning and preparation
- Supporting and teaching the residents with basic life skills
- How to use a washing and dryer

Folding, sorting, and organizing their clothing
- Monitoring and assisting with medication and ensuring proper dosage

Assisting any residents with ambulatory and mobility issues

Household duties, such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning living areas

Supporting and assisting our clients with community integration and participating in social outings and leisure activities such as eateries, grocery shopping, movie watching, medical appts

Responsible for returning expense receipts for outings, along with mileage and expense reports

Travel may be required.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED

Valid Texas Driver’s License

Be able to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, stoop, crouch, and crawl

Lift up to 50 lbs with assistance

Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of residential setting providing services to adults with developmental disabilities

CPR and SAM certifications
- If not, they will be required upon hire and renewed annually thereafter
