Do you have a passion for working with young children and helping them build independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning? We are seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Part-Time Children's House Teacher to join our Montessori community.
In this role, you'll work alongside an experienced classroom team to create a calm, nurturing, and engaging Montessori environment for children ages 3–6 years. You'll help foster independence, curiosity, and respect while supporting each child's unique developmental journey. If you enjoy building meaningful relationships with children and families while making a lasting impact every day, we'd love to meet you.
Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Teacher in creating and maintaining a warm, welcoming, and prepared Montessori Children's House classroom.
- Assist children in developing independence, concentration, confidence, and practical life skills.
- Help guide children through age-appropriate Montessori lessons and activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Encourage children to make independent choices while providing gentle guidance and support.
- Observe children's progress and share observations with the Lead Teacher.
- Foster positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and fellow team members.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
- Follow all health, safety, licensing, and school policies.
- Collaborate with classroom staff and school leadership to provide a high-quality learning experience.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as scheduled.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children ages 3–6 in a childcare, daycare, preschool, Montessori, or early childhood education setting.
- Montessori experience is preferred but not required—we welcome candidates eager to learn.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, organized, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
