Duties
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, providing critical care and patient stabilization on scene and during transport
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs monitoring, and medical history collection
- Manage airways effectively using basic airway management techniques and assist with oxygen therapy as needed
- Administer medications via injections or other approved methods following established protocols
- Perform advanced patient care procedures such as venipuncture, DME (Durable Medical Equipment) setup, and medication administration
- Maintain clear documentation of patient condition, treatment provided, and transport details in compliance with medical terminology standards
- Operate emergency vehicles safely while adhering to traffic laws and driving regulations; assist with heavy lifting during equipment setup or patient transfer
- Collaborate with hospital staff during handoff reports at Level I Trauma Centers or other medical facilities to ensure continuity of care
Requirements
- Valid EMT-Basic certification with current licensure in good standing
- Demonstrated experience in critical care environments such as hospital settings or emergency rooms
- Familiarity with triage procedures and Level II trauma center protocols
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, emergency medicine practices, and aseptic techniques
- Proficiency in vital signs assessment, patient care techniques, and emergency airway management
- Experience with critical care transport services preferred; background in urgent care or hospital experience highly valued
- Ability to perform physical examinations, venipuncture, injection administration, and medication delivery accurately
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and physiology to inform clinical decision-making
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks required in emergency scenarios
