As a Press Feeder Operator, this role supports safe, efficient, and high-quality printing operations by operating the mechanical sheet feeder and assisting the Press Operator with press setup, repair, and routine maintenance activities. This position contributes to production accuracy, press readiness, and overall workflow efficiency by preparing materials, monitoring press systems, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. A typical day includes reviewing job tickets, loading and inspecting paper, managing ink and water systems, assisting with press setup, completing quality documentation, and performing housekeeping tasks to support uninterrupted press operations.

Clear the press and feeder before and after each run by removing foreign materials and emptying waste receptacles.

Review job tickets to select, load, unload, and inspect the correct paper stock for defects or damage.

Obtain and maintain proper ink levels by filling ink fountains according to job requirements.

Prepare fountain solution, operate the dampening system, and monitor water levels, pH balance, and conductivity.

Set up and operate the mechanical sheet feeder to support continuous press operations.

Assist with mounting plates, blankets, and packing during press setup.

Move printed and unprinted stock as needed to maintain production flow.

Perform routine press adjustments during runs to maintain quality standards.

Complete ISO documentation and quality checks accurately and on time.

Maintain a clean and organized press area, ensuring proper supplies are available.

Follow all federal, state, local, and company safety rules and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or GED.

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to pass a basic reading assessment and perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through testing or prior work experience.

Ability to pass color vision and color hue testing.
