A large organization in the Seattle, WA area is searching for a Senior Accountant for their team. LHH is looking for someone who has at least five years of accounting experience and who is interested in partnering directly with the Controller for financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and variance analysis. This position handles accounting for a few subsidiaries and reviews the work of the other accounting team members. Responsibilities-
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

Lead assigned portions of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

Analyze financial transactions and ensure accuracy of general ledger activity.

Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts and investigate variances.

Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.

Coordinate with external auditors and assist with audit requests and documentation.

Review and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and workflow processes.

Monitor compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and support business initiatives.

Assist with cash management, fixed assets, accruals, and other key accounting functions.

Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on accounting best practices.
Qualifications-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.

Experience with month-end and year-end close activities.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
