Job Summary
We are seeking a Material Handler to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, to load, unload, and move materials efficiently within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role requires previous experience driving a forklift, attention to detail, able to move stone slabs. Previous experience with a stone fabrication company highly desired.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move slabs through the fabrication shop
- Load and unload shipments efficiently while maintaining safety protocols
- Assist saw operator in loading and unloading tables
- Place remnant stickers on remnants
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies at all times during heavy equipment operation
- Help pull slabs /remnants for customer viewings
- Dump hopper when full
- Stage material in order of job needing to be cut
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals
- Other duties as assigned
Experience
- Previous experience operating forklifts, cranes, or other heavy equipment in a warehouse or construction setting is highly preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners is a plus
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety practices
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is beneficial
