Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a
Materials Scientist with our medical device client in Minneapolis, MN. This is a 7-month contract with a potential for extension.
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.
Description:
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Analyzes, researches, designs and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems.
- Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, nonmetallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes.
- Develops, analyzes and applies material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications.
- Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications.
- May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.
- Requires a completed Bachelor's degree, ideally in a related life-sciences / engineering discipline
- Former medical device exposure a plus but not required

- Understanding of materials characterization, processing, and performance.
- Initiative/Self Starter/Autonomy
- Understanding of Materials Science, Biocompatibility, Biostability, and Materials of Concern Regulations.
3 main responsibilities/day to day activities required for this role:
- Participating in project team meetings for materials research, new product development and released products.
- Laboratory work: Materials Characterization, Accelerated Testing, Surface Analysis
