Huntington Learning Center – Melbourne is seeking passionate and knowledgeable SAT/ACT Math experts, High School Math teachers, and STEM educators to join our team as part-time prep tutors and teachers. In this dynamic role, you will inspire high school students to excel on the Math sections of the digital SAT and ACT through engaging instruction, strategic problem-solving techniques, and innovative teaching methods.
This role is ideal for educators who love mathematics, enjoy breaking down complex quantitative concepts, and take pride in teaching diverse SAT/ACT test strategies—from time management and calculator efficiency to process of elimination and backsolving. As a vital member of our educational community, you will deliver tailored, one-on-one and small-group tutoring sessions that boost student confidence, eliminate math anxiety, and foster academic success.
As an SAT/ACT Math tutor, you will guide students in mastering essential exam topics, including Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Data Analysis, and Advanced Math concepts. All instruction takes place in a structured, supportive environment using Huntington’s proven curriculum—no lesson planning or take-home work required.

Qualifications:

We are looking for:
- Advanced Content Knowledge: Complete command of the high school curriculum tested on the exams (Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Advanced Math, Data Analysis, Grammar/Language Conventions, and Reading Comprehension).
- Pattern Recognition: Ability to instantly recognize recurring SAT/ACT question types, standard traps, and common distractor answers.
- Multiple Problem-Solving Methods: Proficiency in teaching alternative solving methods (e.g., backsolving, plugging in strategic numbers, process of elimination, and tactical time management) alongside traditional academic approaches.
- Technology & Tool Efficiency: Mastery of exam-approved tools, such as graphing calculator functions and native platform tools (e.g., the Desmos calculator built into the digital SAT).
- Diagnostic Assessment: Ability to analyze student error patterns to deliver targeted instruction.
- Tutors with a passion for helping students achieve their goals!
- Those with prior tutoring, teaching, or coaching experience
- Individuals with strong communication, organization, and time management skills
