The Parts Specialist is responsible for managing, sourcing, and supplying parts and materials required for repairs, maintenance, or production. This role involves maintaining accurate inventory records, assisting customers or technicians in identifying required parts, and ensuring timely and efficient parts delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, locate, and order parts based on customer or technician requests.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular stock checks and updates.
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming parts shipments.
- Process parts orders, invoices, and returns efficiently.
- Provide technical assistance and product knowledge to customers or service staff.
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the parts department or storage area.
- Assist in developing parts pricing and promotional strategies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree or technical certification preferred).
- Proven experience as a Parts Specialist, Parts Clerk, or similar role.
- Knowledge of automotive, mechanical, or equipment parts (depending on industry).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems or ERP software.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions:
- Typically based in a warehouse, service department, or parts counter environment.
- May require some lifting, standing, and use of equipment or tools.
