PERFORMANCE, QUALITY & SAFETY
The Lead Countertop Installer is responsible for both their own workmanship and the overall quality and execution of the installation crew assigned to the project.
Installation teams are generally expected to safely and professionally complete approximately 2–3 full kitchen installations OR 2–3 full bathroom installations per day, depending on project size, travel, complexity, job-site conditions, and required field work.
A full kitchen commonly includes approximately 3–5 stone pieces, while a full bathroom may include approximately 2–3 pieces.
Production expectations will never override safe handling or quality requirements.
Safety and quality are non-negotiable.
The Lead Installer is expected to:
- Follow applicable OSHA safety requirements and Summit safety procedures
- Ensure required PPE and proper stone-handling equipment are used
- Enforce safe lifting, carrying, transportation, and installation practices within the crew
- Protect customer property throughout the installation
- Ensure undermount sinks are properly supported and installed according to Summit procedures
- Ensure natural stone is properly sealed when required
- Verify seams, overhangs, supports, backsplashes, sinks, and finished installation quality before leaving the project
- Stop work and communicate with management when conditions create an unacceptable safety, quality, or property-damage risk
COMMUNICATION & ACCOUNTABILITY
The Lead Countertop Installer serves as the primary field representative of Summit during many installations.
We expect our Lead Installers to communicate professionally, transparently, respectfully, and honestly, including when mistakes, unexpected conditions, or installation challenges occur.
Problems should be identified and communicated quickly so that the installation, fabrication, measurement, and sales teams can work together toward the correct solution.
