Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating heavy equipment, including forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks, to efficiently handle materials in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse distribution, shipping and receiving processes, and adherence to OSHA safety standards. Prior warehouse experience, including order picking and inventory management, is highly valued to ensure smooth operations and accurate order fulfillment.
Duties
- Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, order pickers, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately track inventory and process orders.
- Perform order picking and material handling tasks with precision to meet shipping deadlines.
- Assist with shipping & receiving activities, ensuring proper documentation and safety procedures are followed.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently while maintaining safety protocols.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure mechanical integrity and report any issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Follow OSHA guidelines and company policies for safe operation of all heavy equipment.
- Support warehouse management in daily operations as needed, including assisting with inventory counts or other tasks requiring mechanical knowledge.
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment in a warehouse or construction setting.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse distribution processes, shipping & receiving procedures, and materials handling.
- Familiarity with RF scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), and order picking techniques.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting on heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds or more) regularly throughout shifts.
- Experience with warehouse supervision or leadership roles is a plus but not required.
- Excellent attention to detail for accurate order picking and inventory management.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors effectively. Pay: From $20.00 per hour
