As a Personal Care Attendant, you'll provide compassionate, one-on-one support to clients in the comfort of their own homes. More than just a caregiver, you'll become a trusted source of comfort, companionship, and encouragement, helping clients maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life.
In this rewarding role, you will:
Assist with personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, and other activities of daily living
Support clients with light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and cooking
Run errands and provide assistance with daily routines
Offer meaningful companionship and emotional support
Monitor client well-being and communicate changes to your supervisor
Follow each client's individualized Plan of Care to ensure safe, high-quality care
Successful candidates will have:
Knowledge of proper body mechanics, safe use of mechanical and adaptive equipment, and infection control practices, including universal precautions
The ability to provide emotional support and foster positive social interactions with clients and their families
Experience assisting with bathing, dressing, ambulation, transfers, self-administered medications, and other personal care needs outlined in a Plan of Care
Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA regulations
Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and occasional schedule adjustments in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of and commitment to emergency reporting procedures
A compassionate, dependable, and client-focused approach to care

Requirements:

High school education or GED equivalent

Previous experience working with the elderly and/or adults with disabilities preferred.

Valid Vermont driver’s license. Ability to successfully pass pre-employment history and physical examination. Must successfully pass background checks including driver record, criminal, adult and child abuse background, and Office of Inspector General (OIG) check/review. Must show proof of qualified auto insurance at time of employment.
