Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented DOT Inspection Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough Department of Transportation (DOT) inspections on commercial vehicles to ensure compliance with federal and state safety regulations. Duties
- Perform comprehensive DOT inspections on semi-trailers in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Identify and document any mechanical issues or safety violations, ensuring timely repairs or adjustments.
- Conduct trailer maintenance checks including brakes, lights, tires, suspension, air brakes, and hydraulic systems.
- Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical systems such as transmissions, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and compliance documentation for audit purposes.
Skills
- Proven experience with fleet service environments or heavy equipment maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of systems including suspensions, shocks & struts, tires and semi-trailer electrical systems.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques for repairs and fabrication is a plus.
- Familiarity with tire service, wheel alignment, brake repair, and semi-trailer maintenance procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and performing hands-on repairs in various environmental conditions.

Pay: $22.50 - $26.50 per hour
