We are looking for a careful forklift operator to move lumber around our facility. You will be operating a sit down forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. Your job could involve driving around warehouses, storage spaces, loading and unloading trucks. The goal will be to ensure that product will always be at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.
Skills
- Must have experience driving a sit down forklift.
- Preferred experience with moving long and uneven loads
Responsibilities
- To promote the yard in all aspects of shipping, trucking & KD inventory control. Work with shipping manager to keep warehouses organized and clean; Help to coordinate and manage lumber inventory for White County Moulding (WCM) and insure the maximum profitability and safety of the shipping operation.
WCM Lumber Program
- Assist in pulling all volume lumber orders for WCM
- Coordinate daily shipping schedule for lumber and mouldings with shipping supervisor
- Tally all lumber orders and maintain accurate inventory databases.
Shipping/Quality Assurance
- Schedule and monitor delivery operations with shipping supervisor.
- Pull and load orders for next day deliveries.
- Make sure all orders are accurate and packaged in straight, neat manageable bundles. All orders must be checked off with employee’s initials at each stage.
- Assumes ultimate responsibility for accurate shipments.
- NEVER load a truck without a WCM delivery ticket (DT).
Receiving/Lumber, Inventory Management
- Always verify the purchase order (PO) and moisture content before unloading a truck.
Reman
- Lumber must be staged for reman each day in the order it must be completed
- Control flow of material in and out of reman
