Shriners Children's St. Louis has an opportunity for full-time Certified Medical Assistant in our Outpatient Clinic. The Medical Assistant (MA) will support and facilitate clinic operations by performing clinical, clerical, and technical duties, including patient rooming, documentation during visits, assisting with minor procedures, managing supplies, supporting Telehealth services when applicable, and flexing to administrative support when needed. This role requires strong communication skills, clinical competence, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to ensure an optimal care experience for patients and families. In addition, the Medical Assistant is responsible for phlebotomy and assisting with the application and removal of casts.

The Medical Assistant assists in rooming patients, taking vital signs, measurements, preparation of exam rooms, stocking supplies, assisting the physician, interacting with other departments and documentation in the electronic medical record.
- The Medical Assistant works with and under the direction of the RN.

Assists providers, nursing and other health care professionals with procedures and the intake and depart processes. Accurately documents information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

Responsible for prepping clinic to be prepared for that day's clinic to include monitoring supplies and equipment and ordering supplies

Utilizes good clinical judgement to identify problems and interventions with patients and families and referral to RN as needed

Required:

High School Diploma / GED

Medical Assistant Certification from a nationally recognized association (NHA, AMA, NCRMA, NAHP)

Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred:

Two years' experience as a Medical Assistant
