Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Powder Coating Line Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the powder coating line to ensure high-quality finishes on a variety of metal products. Your expertise will help us deliver durable, visually appealing coatings while maintaining safety and efficiency standards. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns, airless paint sprayers, and curing ovens to achieve optimal coating quality.
- Monitor the powder coating process, adjusting parameters as needed to ensure consistent application and finish.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery, including hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication tools.
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and crane operations, ensuring proper storage and movement of coated parts within the warehouse or fabrication area.
- Conduct inspections using precision measuring instruments and visual checks to verify coating thickness, adhesion, and surface quality.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment to promote safety and efficiency in accordance with lean manufacturing principles.
- Document process parameters, quality checks, and maintenance activities accurately for production records.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in industrial painting, auto body repair, or auto painting is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts and cranes; certification is a plus.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to coating thicknesses, and process adjustments.
- Warehouse experience or manufacturing background demonstrating understanding of production workflows.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to operate precision measuring instruments and use auto body repair techniques when necessary.
