Carnegie Hill Creamery – Upper East Side, Manhattan
Carnegie Hill Creamery is a neighborhood ice cream and artisanal donut shop on the Upper East Side. We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and highly accountable Working Manager to help run our store and lead a small team.
This is a hands-on position. Most shifts will be worked independently, operating the store, serving customers, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. In addition to daily operations, you will be responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and managing a small team of 2–3 part-time employees who provide coverage on your days off and assist during busy periods.

Schedule
- Full-time position
- Approximately 35-45 hours per week
- 5 days per week
- Open availability required
- Must be available every weekend
- Must be able to work closing shifts until 10:00 PM
Compensation
- Base pay of $20.00 per hour
- Guaranteed minimum earnings of $25.00 per hour after tips and bonuses
- Expected earnings typically range from $25–$35+ per hour depending on tip levels and performance bonuses
Responsibilities
- Open and close the store independently
- Deliver exceptional customer service with a positive attitude
- Serve ice cream, donuts, beverages, and other menu items
- Operate the POS system and handle cash accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked store
- Receive deliveries and manage inventory
- Recruit, interview, hire, and train employees
- Create schedules and manage shift coverage
- Supervise and coach a team of 2–3 part-time employees
- Handle customer concerns professionally
- Ensure store standards and procedures are followed
- Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve operations
Qualifications
- Previous management, assistant management, shift leader, or supervisory experience preferred
- Restaurant, coffee shop, bakery, ice cream shop, retail, or hospitality experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Dependable, punctual, and highly organized
- Comfortable hiring, training, and managing employees
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
