Interior Horticulturist

The Tropical Plant Technician is responsible for maintaining interiorscape accounts assigned to their care. On a structured schedule and within an allotted time frame, the technician maintains interior foliage plants by using accepted horticultural techniques.
Key Responsibilities:

Water and fertilize plants as needed to maintain optimal growth.

Keep all plants clean, pruned, and remove any damaged or unsightly foliage.

Maintain accurate records of plant health and treatments.
- Perform regular inspections to identify and address pest, disease, or nutritional deficiencies in plants.
- Collaborate with a horticulture team to execute plant care schedules and protocols.

Provide advice and support to clients regarding the care and maintenance of tropical plants.
Horticultural Service Technicians must have a reliable personal vehicle available for each workday for transportation to the accounts. Vehicle liability insurance and a valid driver’s license are always in place. Mileage compensation will be provided.

Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or coursework in horticulture, botany, or a related field is preferred.
Required Experience:
- Proven track record of maintaining plant health and managing plant care schedules.
- Experience in identifying and treating common plant diseases and pests.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of tropical plant species, their care requirements, and environmental needs.
- Ability to operate and maintain greenhouse equipment and tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent observational skills to monitor plant health and growth.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address plant health issues and optimize growth conditions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and supervisors.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
