Position Summary
This position serves as a shift subject matter expert for critical HVAC and mechanical building systems, ensuring maximum reliability, uptime, and performance in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will possess advanced troubleshooting skills, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to respond quickly to system issues affecting facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair:
- Air Handling Units (AHUs)
- Make-Up Air Units (MAUs)
- Exhaust ventilation systems
- Chilled water and hot water systems
- Pumps, motors, VFDs, valves, and associated mechanical equipment
- Monitor and respond to Building Automation System (BAS/BMS) alarms to maintain continuous facility operation.
- Diagnose HVAC, refrigeration, airflow, and mechanical system failures using sound troubleshooting techniques.
- Partner with Electrical, Controls, and Maintenance Technicians to resolve complex equipment issues.
- Perform equipment inspections and execute preventive maintenance activities in accordance with established schedules.
- Accurately document work performed within the CMMS.
- Support commissioning, startup activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and all site safety requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other maintenance team members when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of industrial or large commercial HVAC maintenance experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills on complex HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Experience working with Building Automation Systems (Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Trane, or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Strong understanding of pumps, motors, bearings, belts, controls, and mechanical equipment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely perform physical maintenance activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industrial manufacturing experience.
- State HVAC Mechanical License or Journeyman certification.
- Experience with predictive maintenance technologies.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- Familiarity with battery manufacturing, automotive, or other advanced manufacturing facilities.
