As a Medication Technician, you will play a crucial part in ensuring residents receive their prescribed medications accurately and timely, supporting their overall health and well-being. PM Shift is available - Hours from 2:30pm - 11pm.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Medication Administration and Documentation
· Check with supervisor at beginning of each shift for medication updates
· Prepare & pass medication for each resident's medication administration with attention to the following:
· Right drug
· Right time
· Right route
· Right resident
· Right dosage
· Administer medications to residents using the Medication Administration Record (MAR) as a guide
· Ensure confidentiality of resident medication among other residents
· Legibly document all resident concerns made while administering the medication
· Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of medication cart
· Restock medication cart with cups and spoons after all medication passes are completed
· Re-order meds when low through family desired pharmacy.
· Check for expired medication and place in appropriate location.
Resident Care
· Able to perform all duties as outlined on Personal Care Assistant job description
· Assist in answering incoming telephone calls in a professional manner
· Assist with resident care and physical support as needed
· Read the Daily Log at the beginning of each shift
· Effectively communicate and/or document any information regarding residents
Performs any other duties (within the scope of job classification and employee’s skills and abilities) as defined by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Health screening or physical exam within six (6) months prior to employment indicating that applicant is free from communicable disease and is able to perform the critical functions of the position. Must have a negative skin TB test
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
· Experience in care of elderly adults
· Current standard first aid training certificate
· Ability to pass DOJ fingerprint clearance
· Must possess the ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in English
· Display friendly, positive, helpful and caring attitude
· Good organizational and time management skills
