Position Overview
Tree House After School Programs is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic After School Instructor to lead engaging enrichment activities for students during after school hours. This role is ideal for an educator who enjoys working with elementary-aged students, can create a supportive and interactive learning environment, and is passionate about student development through hands-on experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging after school lessons and activities aligned with the program’s focus area.
- Introduce age-appropriate skills and concepts through interactive projects and guided practice.
- Lead students through structured activities, collaborative work, and creative exercises.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.
- Adapt lessons and activities to meet varying skill levels and learning styles.
- Manage classroom behavior professionally during after school hours.
- Communicate effectively with program coordinators and school staff.
- Track student participation and progress when required by the program.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching or working with children in an educational or after school setting.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to explain concepts in a clear and age-appropriate manner.
- Ability to lead structured group activities.
- Dependable, punctual, and professional.
- Ability to introduce and demonstrate basic musical instruments to preschool-aged children.
- Familiarity with fundamental music concepts, including rhythm, beat, tempo, dynamics, and instrument families.
- Ability to lead age-appropriate songs, movement activities, and interactive musical games.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Prior experience teaching enrichment programs (such as STEM, arts, languages, tutoring, or recreation).
- Experience working with elementary students.
Compensation & Term
$90 per class.
