Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and mixers
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen tools to ensure food safety and sanitation
- Assist with menu planning by providing input on dish presentation and ingredient sourcing
- Follow food handling procedures diligently to uphold safety standards in production
- Support meal preparation for various service periods, including catering events if applicable
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate timely food delivery and service flow
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within a restaurant or food service environment
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient portioning
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production
- Ability to follow recipes precisely while maintaining consistency in dish quality
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen team members
- Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide responsibilities is a plus
- Familiarity with menu planning, catering experience, and serving techniques enhances your versatility in the role
