Lead Automotive Technician / Production Lead
Godspeed Auto Group/Meineke Car Care
Godspeed Auto Group is looking for an experienced Lead Automotive Technician / Production Lead to join our team.
This is a hands-on position. You will work on cars every day alongside our production team, but you'll also be the person we call when there's a problem nobody else can figure out.
If a technician is stuck on a diagnosis, a repair didn't solve the problem, or a difficult vehicle is holding up production, we need you to step in, figure it out, and get that car moving.
What You'll Do
- Work on and repair vehicles every day
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems
- Handle difficult or unusual diagnostic issues
- Help other technicians when they get stuck
- Take over problem vehicles when necessary
- Troubleshoot repeat repairs and comeback issues
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and mechanical repairs
- Help determine the right repair instead of simply throwing parts at a problem
- Keep vehicles moving through production
- Verify repairs and maintain our quality standards
- Help train and develop less-experienced technicians
- Communicate parts, repair, and production problems to management
- Be the go-to technical person for the shop
What We're Looking For
Shop experience is required. We're looking for someone who already knows their way around a professional automotive shop and can hit the ground running.
You must:
- Have professional automotive shop experience
- Have your own tools
- Have strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities
- Be comfortable diagnosing electrical issues
- Know how to use scan tools and diagnostic equipment
- Be able to work on a wide variety of makes and models
- Be able to diagnose a problem instead of just replacing parts
- Work well independently and as part of a team
- Be dependable and able to take ownership of difficult vehicles
- Have a valid driver's license
Automotive certifications are a big plus. ASE or other recognized automotive certifications are preferred but not required for the right experienced technician.
Benefits & Opportunity
We want to take care of someone who proves they can take care of our production operation.
- Company-paid gas
- Potential company vehicle after proving yourself in the position
- Full-time, steady work
- Opportunity to take on more responsibility and grow with our group
- Work on a large variety of vehicles and problems
- Leadership opportunity while still getting to work on cars
This Isn't a Desk Job
We're not looking for someone who wants to sit in an office and tell technicians what to do.
You're still turning wrenches every day.
But when somebody says, "I can't figure this car out," you're the person we expect to walk over, diagnose the problem, and help get it finished.
If you're an experienced technician who enjoys solving the problems other people can't, we want to talk to you.
