Job Overview
The Pet Care Facility Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our daycare and boarding center. It is vital that the Pet Care Facility Manager ensures a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all animals. This position requires a passionate individual who is dedicated to animal welfare and has strong leadership and communication skills to manage staff and interact with pet owners. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of animal care experience, customer service experience, and managerial capabilities to smoothly and effectively run the facility.
Duties
- Supervise daily operations of the pet care facility, including scheduling staff and managing workflow
- Ensure the health and safety of all animals in the facility by maintaining cleanliness and proper care protocols
- Ability to consistently maintain a clean environment (cleaning pet suites, mopping floors, picking up poop)
- Oversee animal care activities, including feeding, grooming, exercise, and training.
- Maintain accurate records of animal health, behavior, and any incidents that occur within the facility
- Train and mentor staff on best practices for animal handling and care
- Staying consistent regarding the pet's various schedules (feeding, playtime, etc.)
- Assists staff in situations requiring immediate problem-solving
- Monitors animal population status, flow, and inventory
- Requires weekend availibility
Skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills for interacting with team members and pet owners
- A compassionate approach towards animals combined with strong leadership qualities
- Familiarity with Kennel operations to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the facility
- Ability to proactively manage playtimes, grooming appointments, and feeding schedules
- Willingness to be flexible and on call at anytime in order to assist in the well-being of pets and employees
