Working Through Therapy Group is a small group practice dedicated to psychoanalytic psychotherapy, emphasizing understanding the deeper emotional, relational, and unconscious factors that shape our patients' lives.
We are seeking a licensed mental health therapist who is interested in developing as a therapist and committed to providing meaningful, in-depth treatment. Prior psychoanalytic training is not required. However, applicants should possess a genuine curiosity about human behavior and a willingness to learn and integrate psychoanalytic concepts into their clinical work. Training and mentorship will be provided.
The ideal clinician is thoughtful, psychologically minded, self-reflective, and committed to ongoing professional growth. We value therapists who are capable of thinking deeply about their patients, who approach clinical work with humility and curiosity, and who view psychotherapy as a craft that can be continually refined over the course of a career. Additionally, a large portion of our referrals are people of color so applicants must possess compassion, insight, and sensitivity into the experiences of marginalized groups.
Our goal is not simply to help clinicians fill a caseload, but to help them develop into thoughtful and highly skilled psychotherapists capable of providing transformative treatment. We view supervision and mentorship as central components of professional development and are committed to helping clinicians deepen both their clinical abilities and their understanding of human psychology.
The practice provides:
- Individual clinical supervision and mentorship
- Ongoing support in developing clinical skills
- Credentialing with insurance panels
- Billing and administrative support
- Marketing and referral generation
Compensation is based on a fee-split model, with therapists retaining approximately 55%-70% of collected revenue depending on experience, licensure, and clinical volume.
This position is best suited for clinicians who ultimately desire a full-time clinical caseload and are willing to invest in the process of building one. As with most fee-split private practice positions, income grows alongside caseload development. Applicants should be financially positioned to tolerate a gradual ramp-up period while remaining committed to the long-term goal of developing a thriving practice.
While we value work-life balance, this position is intended for clinicians seeking to establish a substantial and meaningful psychotherapy practice rather than a small supplemental caseload.
With your application, please include a statement of why you would be a good fit for this position, including your clinical interests and aspirations. Thank you!
