Medical Assistant – Pediatric Practice
Panda Bear Pediatrics is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Medical Assistant who enjoys working with children and families in an outpatient pediatric setting.
Panda Bear Pediatrics has two locations in Collegeville, PA and Gilbertsville, PA. This is primarily a part-time or full-time position.
Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant works closely with our pediatricians and advanced practice providers to support high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting providers with patient care and office procedures
- Rooming patients and obtaining patient histories and vital signs
- Administering immunizations as permitted by training and practice protocols
- Performing routine clinical procedures
- Entering and updating information in the electronic health record
- Administering and scoring routine developmental, behavioral, and other patient screenings as appropriate
- Providing routine patient education
- Greeting and interacting with children and families in a professional and welcoming manner
- Assisting with scheduling and telephone communication with families as needed
- Processing health forms, medical records, and other patient-related paperwork
Because we are a pediatric practice, team members are cross-trained to assist with both clinical and routine administrative responsibilities when needed.
Education and Qualifications
- Previous healthcare or medical office experience preferred
- Medical Assistant training or certification preferred, but relevant experience will be considered
- Comfortable working with infants, children, adolescents, and their families
- Dependable, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Comfortable learning and using an electronic health record system
- Ability to understand and follow HIPAA requirements and maintain patient and practice confidentiality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Compensation is based on experience. Higher compensation based on relevant pediatric/medical assistant experience and qualifications.
