Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator/Material Handler to join our manufacturing team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation of various machinery and the safe handling of materials throughout the production process. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with manufacturing equipment, and a commitment to quality standards. Duties
- Operate and monitor complex machinery including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, flexo presses, press brake machines, and CAM programming systems to produce high-quality components.
- Set up and adjust equipment using technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to meet precise specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery such as Fanuc controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and CNC systems to minimize downtime.
- Handle materials efficiently using forklifts and other warehouse equipment, ensuring safe transportation and storage within the facility.
- Conduct quality inspections utilizing precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other gauges to verify dimensions and adherence to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
- Assist in fabrication, assembly, and packaging processes by utilizing hand tools, welding techniques, and fabrication tools.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, machine settings, and quality checks for documentation and continuous improvement purposes.
- Support inventory management by organizing raw materials and finished goods within the warehouse environment.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to ensure a secure working environment for all team members.
Skills
- Proficiency with CNC programming, CAM programming, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Experience operating Fanuc controls, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, press brake machines, and flexo presses.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication, welding, tooling setup, and assembly line operations.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers for quality control.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of GD&T principles for precise measurement and quality assurance.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and machine adjustments.
- Experience with factory or manufacturing facility operations; warehouse experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with safety procedures related to materials handling and machinery operation.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams in a fast-paced environment.
