We are looking for a Kennel Technician to join our team and provide care for the animals in our facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing daily care for the animals, including feeding, cleaning, exercising, and administering medication as needed. They will also be responsible for monitoring the health of the animals and ensuring their safety and comfort. The ideal candidate should have a passion for animals and a commitment to providing them with the best possible care.
We are a fully interactive facility so you will be surrounded by dogs at all times. They do not sit in kennels all day, they are playing in groups. The job is a lot of fun but it is also dirty, fast paced and at times, really loud.
We prefer staff to have a license and vehicle in the event of an emergency - a dog bloats, an owner requires a special transport, etc. Dogs live to surprise us so we must always be on the ready!
Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain kennels and playrooms.
- Feed and water animals.
- Monitor animals at all times for signs of illness or injury.
- Provide basic grooming services, such as brushing, bathing and nail trimming.
- Administer medications as directed by a veterinarian.
- Maintain accurate records of animal care.
- Provide exercise and socialization to animals.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for animals.
*This a growth oriented position*. Our ideal candidate will be looking to fast track in a shift lead position, which is a heavy customer facing position as well as animal care. Of course, salary and benefits with coincide with additional responsibilities.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.50 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
