Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with a Special Education (SPED) endorsement
- Knowledge and experience supporting students with mild to moderate special needs
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Dedication to collaboration with colleagues, administrators, and families to promote student success
- Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction to students with special needs
- Assess students’ skills and learning requirements; monitor progress toward goals
- Develop, implement, and document IEPs in accordance with state requirements
- Facilitate small group and one-on-one sessions tailored to each student's goals
- Create a positive, nurturing environment that encourages student participation and confidence
- Maintain regular communication with families, team members, and support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and professional learning community activities
