Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager is a leader in the department, modeling a positive and professional attitude while being open to new ideas. The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the work of all Accountants including the monthly accounting close process, balance sheet reconciliations, financial statement reporting as well as audit and tax requirements. The Accounting Manager will supervise, train, and assign tasks to the Accountants in addition to assisting in the creation and documentation of accounting processes and procedures. This role is also responsible for the implementation of process improvements related to achieving a faster monthly close.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare and/or review journal entries and account reconciliations.

Oversee the monthly close process for the work of Accountants including; assigning and monitoring tasks, financial analysis, balance sheet reconciliation review.

Ensure timely and accurate completion of the financial statements.

Implement new accounting processes and automation/standardization initiatives. Prepare related process documentation.

Oversee the inventory account process and related systems (Restaurant 365)

Coach and develop Accountants; assist with hiring and onboarding new Accountants.

Solve issues and prioritize workload challenges (e.g. new reporting requirements, additional restaurants etc).

Assist with cash management and ensure timely reconciliation and review of bank accounts.

Communicate with the Regional Managers with restaurant results as well as address accounting questions and issues.

Train restaurant Managers and Chefs on proper accounting procedures.

Education and/or Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university, with at least 5 years of accounting experience and 3+ years of supervisory experience. CPA, Master’s Degree, and public accounting experience preferred.
Other Qualifications:

Accounting experience and knowledge: CPA, public accounting, and/or restaurant accounting experience preferred.
