Duties
- Offer peer-led support to individuals experiencing mental health conditions, addiction issues, or co-occurring disorders through active listening, encouragement, and mentorship
- Assist clients in developing personalized recovery plans, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques to promote motivation and goal setting
- Provide crisis intervention and crisis management during urgent situations, ensuring safety and appropriate follow-up care
- Educate clients about harm reduction strategies, mental health management, and available community resources
- Document interactions and progress using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems with accuracy and confidentiality
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and ensure holistic support for clients
- Advocate for clients’ needs within healthcare systems, social services, and community organizations
Qualifications
- Certified Peer Support Specialist credential required, with lived experience related to mental health or substance use recovery
- Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavioral health support
- Knowledge of mental health counseling techniques, addiction counseling, harm reduction strategies, and motivational interviewing
- Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders or mental health conditions preferred
- Strong mentoring abilities with a compassionate approach to supporting others’ recovery journeys
- Familiarity with social work principles and the use of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation
- Excellent communication skills to build trust and foster positive relationships with diverse populations

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Ewing, NJ 08628
