Job Summary
We are a high-precision manufacturing facility in Brea, California, serving the aerospace, defense industries. We are seeking a highly skilled CNC 5-Axis Mastercam Programmer / Setup Specialist to join our team.
In this role, you will lead the programming, coordinate system setup, and first-article execution for complex, tight-tolerance components. You must be an expert in Mastercam Multi-axis workflows and fully capable of setting up and proving out your programs directly on the machine floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming: Write and optimize 5-axis simultaneous and 3+2 indexed CNC programs using Mastercam.
- Setup & Prove-Out: Perform complete machine setups, select appropriate tooling, and run the first-article inspection to prove out G-code safely. Able to run intricate parts. Has experience working with a variety of materials (i.e., aluminum, steel, stainless steel, bronze, high-temp alloys, plastics, etc)
- Toolpath Optimization: Utilize Mastercam Unified Toolpaths (Morph, Parallel, Spiral) to maximize material removal rates and extend tool life.
- Simulation: Use Mastercam Machine Simulation to virtually test and verify G-code against machine kinematics, eliminating collision risks.
- WCS Management: Establish accurate Work Coordinate Systems (WCS) and dynamic work offsets (G54.2 / TCPC) for complex geometry.
- Collaboration: Work alongside engineering and floor machinists to troubleshoot machining issues and improve cycle times.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 3–5+ years of dedicated 5-axis CNC programming and setup experience in a high-tolerance environment.
- Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Mastercam (Mill 3D and Multi-axis modules).
- Machinery: Hands-on experience setting up and operating multi-axis machines.
- Technical Skills: Expert blueprint reading, GD&T fluency, and precision inspection tool competence.
- Quality Standards: Prior experience working under AS9100 quality management systems is highly preferred.
- Citizen Requirements: Due to our defense contracts, candidates must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents (ITAR compliant)
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
