The Fabrication Fitter/Welder is responsible for fitting, assembling, and welding structural steel and miscellaneous metal components according to shop drawings, project specifications, and company quality standards. This position requires strong blueprint-reading skills, accurate measuring ability, knowledge of welding and fabrication practices, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Have previous experience in structural steel fabrication, fitting, welding, or a closely related trade.
- Be able to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and tape measurements accurately.
- Have knowledge of layout, fitting, cutting, grinding, and welding procedures used in steel fabrication.
- Be able to tack, fit, and weld structural steel components according to project specifications and quality standards.
- Be familiar with common fabrication tools and equipment, including grinders, torches, clamps, squares, levels, welding machines, and measuring devices.
- Be able to work safely in a fabrication shop environment and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Be physically able to stand, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Maintain reliable attendance and be able to work scheduled shifts, including overtime when required.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Pass any required pre-employment screening, which may include drug testing, background check, skills testing, or weld testing.
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
