Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CAD Designer to support design and drafting efforts across various projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background using Solidworks software and excellent problem-solving skills. This role is integral in transforming engineering and architectural concepts into precise technical drawings and 3D models.
Responsibilities:
- Develop complex 2D drawings and 3D CAD models by measuring and evaluating existing physical parts, as well as from design specifications and engineering inputs.
- Create and modify detailed drawings from sketches, layouts or notes. Provide and accept feedback to improve design.
· Oversee drawing standards, templates, and best practices to maintain consistency and quality.
- Perform dimensional calculations and tolerance studies, revise drawings as needed.
- Communicate with vendors to source, receive quotes and place orders.
- Provide requested model or drawing formats to vendors as needed.
- Coordinate and collaborate and assist in all areas of the department as needed.
Qualifications:
- Technical Degree in CAD/SolidWorks Design
- 1 – 2 years relevant experience as a drafter/designer using SolidWorks
- Ability to multitask and switch focus quickly
- Very detail oriented
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with GD&T, Hole/Shaft Tolerance Fitments & Weldments and weld callouts.
- Familiarity with P&IDs, fabrication drawings, and design documentation processes.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional, Certified Drafter).
