PAY
This position pays $16.00 plus additional .50 cent for shift differential
SHIFT
Shift hours are 2:45p -11:00pm with flexibility to report early and work past scheduled shift time;
JOB SUMMARY
The Wolf machine operator is responsible for ensuring that the machine is set up and operates properly during production. The Wolf machine operator will coordinate with the employees working on the production line to ensure the proper product is being filled and packaged accurately. The Wolf machine operator will report to the shift supervisor any and all issues related to the machines operation efficiency and production results. The Wolf machine operator will follow all safety guidelines and food manufacturing regulations to ensure that safe, quality products are filled and packaged accurately.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Performs start up, assemble/disassembly and shutdown of machine for daily production
- Adjust machine controls/settings as necessary throughout filling process
- Maintains accurate logs of shift production results; accurately complete and handle required paperwork
- Observes machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled packages
- Sorts, weighs and inspects product to verify and adjust product weight to meet specifications
- Inspect and remove defective product
- Clean, wash and sterilize equipment using water hoses, cleaning or sterilizing solution or rinses
- Notifies shift supervisor/maintenance of machine/equipment issues
- Works closely with production supervisor to ensure line running smoothly
- Change/replace film as required
- Assist with cutting bags for rework, stacking product on racks, loading and unloading retort when needed
- Assures food safety standards with regards to GMP’s and HAACP plan are followed by self and production line workers
- Inspect machine and equipment for operating efficiency; detect hazards, malfunctions, defects
- Maintains neat and clean work area at all times
SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Controlling operations of machines/equipment
- Mechanically inclined
- Ability to monitor and assess situations and take corrective action
- Keen observation and evaluation ability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill
- Leadership and teamwork skills are essentials
- Ability to take initiative; self motivated to produce results
- Must move with sense of urgency; time management skills are essential
- Availability to work outside of normally scheduled shift hours and work overtime when required
EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous machine operating experience in food production required
- Previous production/manufacturing experience
WORK ENVIROMENT
- Will work in environment where safety precautions are required to be followed
- Protective gear such as gloves, work boots and smocks required at all times
- Will work around moving machinery
- Temperature varies from 39-45 degrees
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Moderate to heavy physical effort required
- required to walk, stand, bend for long periods of time throughout the day
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
