Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Personnel to join our team at Filer School District. This full-time position is essential for ensuring the proper functioning and upkeep of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general maintenance, be proactive in identifying issues, and possess the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe and functional environment.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from staff and management.
- Maintain and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other mechanical systems as needed.
- Assist in the installation and assembly of furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in all maintenance activities.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and assist in ordering materials as necessary.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize disruptions to office operations.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in general maintenance, repair, or a related field.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if necessary.
