American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a Resource Pool position requiring floating across telemetry units and ED Hold coverage.

Resource Pool/Float position covering Med/Surg Telemetry units R5 (Oncology), R6 (Ortho), and R7 (Urology/ALC)

Patient population ranges in age from 25 to 99
-
Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 on R5 and R6, and 1:5 on R7, with possible adjustments
-
CNA/PCT and unit clerk support available on all units
-
Uses IV pumps and bladder scanners; performs IVs, bladder scans, blood draws off central lines, and glucose monitoring
-
Documentation via Epic, with medication administration transitioning from MAK to Epic
-
12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 36 hours per week
-
Required to work every other weekend at minimum, with schedule adjusted to unit needs
-
Floating required to R5, R6, R7, and potentially other telemetry units, including ED Hold patients
-
No self-scheduling and no block schedules permitted

No on-call requirements

No charge nurse responsibilities required

Active NY RN license required in hand at time of consideration

AHA BLS certification required; CMSRN certification preferred

NIHSS certification required prior to start

Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience required

Minimum of 1 year of experience in Med/Surg Telemetry specialty required

Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required
-
Reliable personal transportation strongly recommended due to lack of public transit access, with all-season or snow tires recommended November through April

Facility is a Level 2 trauma center with 341 total beds
-
One day of orientation provided

Dress code requires navy blue and white solid-color scrubs, comfortable shoes, minimal jewelry, groomed hair/beard, and no acrylic nail polish

Respiratory therapy support available 24/7, with ventilator management handled by ICU respiratory staff

Advanced practice providers are not present on the unit
-
Holiday coverage required for 2 of the following 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day/Eve

M/S Tele nurses may be required to support ED Hold patients in the ECC/ER
