Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Bench Scientist I to join research organization in Cambridge, MA. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on scientist with experience in bioconjugation, chromatography, spectrometry, and laboratory techniques to contribute to cutting-edge biopharmaceutical research.
The ideal candidate will have a strong laboratory background, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to execute experimental workflows independently while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary scientific team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on laboratory experiments supporting bioconjugation and biopharmaceutical research.
- Execute and optimize bioconjugation/conjugation workflows.
- Perform analytical characterization using chromatography and spectrometry-based techniques.
- Prepare, process, and analyze laboratory samples according to established protocols.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Perform chromatography-based analysis, including HPLC/UPLC and related techniques.
- Support mass spectrometry and other analytical characterization activities.
- Accurately document experimental procedures, observations, results, and conclusions.
- Analyze experimental data and communicate findings to scientists and project teams.
- Follow laboratory safety, quality, and compliance procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional scientists to support research objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Hands-on laboratory experience in an academic, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or related research environment.
- Experience with bioconjugation/conjugation techniques.
- Experience with chromatography techniques such as HPLC, UPLC, SEC, IEX, or related methods.
- Experience with spectrometry/mass spectrometry, preferably LC-MS.
- Strong laboratory skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative research environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with biotherapeutics, proteins, antibodies, peptides, or other biomolecules.
- Experience with analytical characterization of bioconjugates.
- Experience with HPLC/UPLC and mass spectrometry instrumentation.
- Pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience.
- Experience interpreting analytical laboratory data.
Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
