Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including recording vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for procedures such as phlebotomy, or medication administration.
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), administering medications under supervision, and assisting with minor procedures.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical history, ICD coding, and treatment plans.
- Support medical office management by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining medical records in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Conduct patient education on medication usage, post-procedure care, and health maintenance strategies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical office settings with familiarity in outpatient clinics.
- Knowledge of dermatology, urgent care protocols, internal medicine, geriatrics, or medical-surgical practices is highly desirable.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy are a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and ICD coding standards.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management to ensure precise documentation.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations.
- Demonstrated organizational skills for managing medical records, intake processes, vital signs collection, and clinic workflows.
