About Us
McKarl's Libations and Cuisine is looking for an experienced, personable part-time bartender to join our team. We provide food and beverage service for private events, corporate functions, weddings, and special occasions across the Jacksonville area, and we're building a team that delivers great drinks with even better hospitality.
Position Overview
We're seeking a Part-Time Craft Bartender to set up, stock, and run the bar at off-site events. This role is a great fit for a bartender who enjoys the variety of event work, is comfortable managing a bar independently, and takes pride in guest experience.
Schedule
Part-time, event-based scheduling — including evenings, weekends, and holidays as events require. Hours will vary week to week based on the event calendar.
Responsibilities
- Set up, stock, and break down mobile/on-site bars for events
- Mix and serve a range of drinks. Standard cocktails, wine, beer, and event-specific specialty drinks, accurately and efficiently
- Check IDs and monitor guest alcohol consumption, ensuring responsible, legal service at all times
- Maintain an organized, clean bar area throughout service
- Manage inventory: track pours, restock as needed, and report low supplies
- Handle cash/card transactions and maintain an accurate drawer where applicable
- Coordinate with catering chefs, servers, and event leads to ensure smooth, well-timed service
- Provide friendly, professional guest interactions that reflect McKarl's hospitality standards
- Assist with loading/unloading bar equipment and supplies before and after events
Qualifications
- Prior bartending experience required; catering or event bar experience strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of standard drink recipes and mixology techniques
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Florida alcohol server certification (Safe Serve)
- Food handler certification a plus
- Valid Florida driver's license (may be required for transporting bar equipment/supplies to venues)
- Strong customer service, communication, and multitasking skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Compensation
$18–$22/hour, PLUS TIPS
