Job Summary

Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents.
- Handle laundry duties including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens or uniforms in accordance with healthcare or facility protocols.
- Follow strict safety protocols related to chemical handling and manual handling to prevent injuries and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
- Conduct floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to maintain a pristine environment.
- Use specialized cleaning equipment safely and effectively while adhering to environmental services best practices for sanitation and infection control.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, chemical usage, safety inspections, and equipment maintenance logs.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices when moving furniture or large supplies to prevent injury.
Skills
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to chemical handling, manual handling, and workplace safety protocols.
- Proven experience in healthcare facilities housekeeping or commercial cleaning environments with janitorial expertise.
- Familiarity with hospital or healthcare infection prevention and control procedures.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, extractors, and steam cleaners safely and efficiently.
- Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with staff, patients, visitors, or clients.
- Experience in sanitation practices that promote a clean and safe environment for all occupants.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking while maintaining safety protocol adherence.
