Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting the dentist during procedures, preparing treatment rooms, and ensuring patient comfort. Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including pediatric dentistry
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for use
- Take and develop dental X-rays as directed by the dentist
- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and updating medical records
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring patient comfort
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care instructions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic medical record systems such as Epic
- Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of patients and staff
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Proficiency in taking dental X-rays and operating dental imaging equipment
- Knowledge of medical records management and documentation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients of all ages
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
