Job Summary
Join our team as an Operations Sorter and Picker, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the flow of inventory through sorting and picking processes. A fast paced team oriented assignment for shipping, receiving and sorting in an organized manner with a safety first environment.
Responsibilities
- Sort incoming shipments of metal. This requires pushing, pulling, picking, and organizing items to their designated areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency throughout your shift
- Assist in staging picked items for shipments.
- Work with forklifts, shears, hoppers, boxes and pallets.
- Attention to detail for sorting metals to their proper area.
- Work as a team to improve workflow and create a efficient operation
- Follow safety protocols at all times, including proper lifting techniques, equipment handling and assisting customers.
- Clean up your designated work area at the end of each shift.
- Make use of space in an organized manner
- Proper protective equipment must be worn at all times as safety is a priority.
- Regular attendance is a necessity.
Experience
- Prior experience in warehouse operations, sorting, or order picking is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods during shifts
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and focus
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role
