The Clinician/Head of Service (HOS) works primarily at two separate locations/sites for the STRTP. Clinician/HOS is primarily responsible for all clinical functions to ensure that treatment continuity is maintained for clients and their families.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
· Maintaining a safe, healthy, and therapeutic environment at the STRTP.
· Ensures that the Specialty Mental Health Services at the STRTP are being provided in compliance with all protocols and applicable laws and regulations, including ensuring that sound clinical practices and procedures are followed.
· Complete the strength-based, biopsychosocial Mental Health Assessment and Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths Assessment (CANS) for youth admitted to the STRTP.
· Ensuring that each child admitted to the program has a mental health assessment.
· Ensures that each child in the STRTP has commonality of needs with the other children in the STRTP, including whether the child's presence is adverse to the safety of mental health needs of the child or other children admitted to the STRTP.
· Ensuring that the mental health services identified on each treatment plan are provided and appropriate to meet the individual needs of the child.
Provides evidence-based specialty mental health services, including individual and group therapy, directly to youth placed in the STRTP.
· Making arrangements, including transportation, for children to receive mental health services that cannot be provided by the STRTP.
· Ensure that all required documentation and recordkeeping requirements, including Medi-Cal billing information, is completed, met, and submitted on time.
· Monitors children with a mental health diagnosis and who may (or may not) be receiving psychotropic medications.
· Arranging for special provision of mental health services to children with disabilities including visual and auditory impairment.
· Review all children’s progress notes no less than every seven calendar days.
· Supervises the intake placement process and sign an admission statement affirming they have read the child’s referral and documentation and considered the child’s needs and concluded the child’s admission is appropriate to the STRTP.
· Attend Child Family Team Meetings with another site leadership. Follow up on the CFTM.
· Monitor and review staff progress notes including Medi-Cal documentation through the designated system to ensure audit-level quality.
· Development of mental health staff schedule, training schedules, mental health treatment service schedules, medication schedules, and any other schedules for the operation of the STRTP mental health program, including providing training on clinical topics, as needed.
· Assists with the correction of deficiencies and quality improvement efforts.
· Attends and participates in all required meetings.
· Responsible for evaluations, commendations, reprimands and dismissals regarding supervised staff if applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must maintain professional licensure (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, Licensed Psychologist,) or ACSW, AMFT, APCC with an active BBS registration number.
- Experience working with people in crisis.
- Obtain the appropriate number of CEUs each year to maintain licensure and training hours.
- Must meet all state licensing requirements as required by specific site.
- Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test.
- Ability to utilize resources available to complete assigned projects.
- Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence.
- Able to work in excess of 40 hours per week with the possibility of a varied schedule.
- Must have excellent organization and time management skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive internal and external relationships.
- Ability to function independently and as a member of a team in a multi-task environment.
- Must be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities, with the ability to adjust to high pressure and rapidly changing business conditions.
- Proficient in the use of computers and associated software.
- Must have license or be license-eligible with an active BBS registration number.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
