Position Summary
Beyond Barriers Foundation LLC is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to provide clinical oversight and complete comprehensive clinical assessments for individuals receiving behavioral health services. The LCSW will play a vital role in ensuring all services are medically necessary, compliant with North Carolina Medicaid guidelines, and aligned with person-centered care principles.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments (CCA) to determine medical necessity for services
- Complete assessments within 7 business days of referral
- Develop and/or review Person-Centered Plans (PCP) in collaboration with the care team
- Provide clinical recommendations for appropriate levels of care and services (Peer Support, 1915(i), etc.)
- Ensure all documentation meets NC Medicaid, LME/MCO, and accreditation standards (CARF/Joint Commission)
- Review and sign off on clinical documentation as required
- Collaborate with CPSS staff to ensure services align with clinical goals
- Provide clinical guidance and consultation to peer support staff when needed
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the agency’s EHR system
- Participate in quality assurance and audit readiness activities
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality standards
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted LCSW license
- Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience in behavioral health
- Experience completing clinical assessments and treatment planning
- Knowledge of NC Medicaid policies, service definitions, and medical necessity criteria
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and person-centered planning
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with LME/MCOs such as , , and
- Familiarity with 1915(i) services and Peer Support services
- Experience in community-based behavioral health settings
Work Expectations
Position is remote with flexible scheduling
- Compensation is per completed assessment (per claim)
- Base pay structure begins at $150 per pay period, with additional negotiated rates per assessment
- Must be able to maintain timely turnaround and responsiveness
