We are seeking a highly skilled, professional, and reliable Maintenance Technician IV/V to join our team. This advanced-level role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to independently troubleshoot and improve complex systems. This position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, optimizing equipment performance, mentoring team members, and leading continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and facility systems.
Position Responsibilities:
● Advanced Technical Execution
○ Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and robotic systems
○ Diagnose complex equipment failures and implement sustainable corrective actions
○ Interpret electrical schematics, machine logic, and system interfaces to support repairs and upgrades.
○ Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled machinery and automation systems (as applicable)
○ Perform advanced equipment setup, calibration, and optimization
● Systems & Equipment Expertise
○ Lead troubleshooting of hydraulic systems and advanced equipment step procedures
○ Perform tooling modification, fabrication, and repair to improve equipment reliability
○ Manage and support robotics systems including:
■Communication and interface troubleshooting
■ Camera calibration and adjustment (Level IV/V)
■ Pendant controls and system integration
● Continuous Improvement & Innovation
○ Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to reduce downtime and improve efficiency
○ Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring failures
○ Drive uptime and reliability improvements across production lines and facilities
○ Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and new installations
● Leadership & Mentorship
○ Serve as a technical mentor for other Maintenance Technicians
○ Provide training and knowledge transfer on advanced troubleshooting techniques
○ Support cross-functional collaboration with production, engineering, and quality teams
○ Assist in developing standard work, procedures, and technical documentation
● Vendor & Project Support
○ Interface with external vendors for advanced troubleshooting, parts sourcing, and service coordination
○ Support project planning, installation, and commissioning of new equipment
○ Provide technical input for equipment design improvements and procurement decisions
● Safety, Compliance & Facilities
○ Ensure compliance with all safety standards (LOTO, fall protection, etc.)
○ Support advanced facility systems including boilers and infrastructure (Level IV exposure)
○ Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across maintenance operations
● Other Duties
○ Facilities maintenance as required
○ Participation in on-call rotation as needed
○ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
● Strong mentorship abilities with the ability to guide less-senior technicians.
● Advanced problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
● Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
● Proficient in interpreting schematics, technical manuals, and system diagrams
● Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
● Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
● Experience with CMMS or maintenance tracking systems
● Ability to be on call as needed
● Ability to physically perform tasks overhead and at floor level; lift up to 60 lbs
● Valid driver’s license
● Ability to read, write, and understand English
Education and Experience:
● High School Diploma or Equivalent required
● Maintenance Technician IV: Typically 6+ years of industrial maintenance experience
● Maintenance Technician V: Typically 8+ years with advanced specialization in automation/robotics or system integration
● Extensive experience in electrical, mechanical, and automation troubleshooting
● Experience working with advanced manufacturing systems and robotics preferred
● Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience required for Level V
Location: North Sioux City, SD
Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience and highly competitive within industry.
